Outstanding job Marines! To all the Ordnanceman of VMFA-212 you have done me proud with your diligent efforts to adapt, overcome, and rise to the challenges that such a young Ordnance division had to offer. During the build up for Noble Eagle and then through the execution you proved why Ordnanceman have such a tight unity. I appreciate the 110% that everyone gave, i would go to war with anyone of you! Continue to march on and Drop one for me when you get there! If anyone ever needs anything drop me a line at chris0415@yahoo.com

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling that thinks nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important that his own personal safety is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of men better than himself." Kudos on the web site, it is impressive and very touching with the addition of the "around the world" concern photos. As I am a civilian, a mother, an American, and a sister to a Marine, I just wanted to say May God Bless and keep you from harm, each and every one of you. I also wanted to thank you, (you are a minority) for having the fortitude and pride in country to stand in defense of this nation on any given day, and let you know that the people of the USA are behind the military 100%. With the exception of a couple thousand panty waist, cry baby, liberals...whom none of us give the time of day. Have the best of Holidays ladies and gentlemen, god bless. As a daughter of a Marine I know that it is hard to be a military brat but I support all of the Marines of VFMA-212 and I think they are doing a VERY good job and i just wanted to tell them to keep up the good work and may god bless all of you!!!

Dear Sirs,
My name is Sgt Hernandez and I have just logged on to become a member, I want to say that this site. Is one that all Ordnance Marines should know and be a part of. I'm currently deployed on the Theodore Roosevelt for "Operation Enduring Freedom". With VMFA-251 Thunderbolts stationed in Beaufort, S.C. I'm very proud to say that I had the chance to be part of something so significant. To us as Marines, Ordnancemen, and as Americans, I wish that I was able to get some trigger time, but my mission is here. It is such a satisfaction to know that our Ordnance is making a huge impact. In the "War on Terrorism", I can honestly say that what I have learned in the Marines. I could never have learned anywhere else and my expierences in the Ordnance field have been awesome. Some good and some bad, I have been with four squadrons during my enlistments VMFA-451 (89-92), VMFA-312 (92-94), VMFA-115 (97-01), VMFA-251 (01-present). To all the Ordnance Marines out there deployed and back home I want to say this. No matter where I have been, Ordnance has all ways been a shop that becomes close. No matter what shop I have been with, Ordnance has all ways taken care of one another and we create a bond. That you may only see with Force Recon, when deployed or back home we sleep, eat, and party together. I'm very proud to be a Marine and to be a part of our Ordnance history and tradition. To all my brothers out there, I wish you all the best and god speed. We will prefail and conquer terrorism I guarantee you that, and Ordnance will be a part of that. I hope one day in the future we will be able to get our Ordnance wings. Be safe and take care, "Semper Fi". Sgt Hernandez, SD hernandezsd@vmfa-251.usmc.mil
To all you ordies in the trenches so to speak...thanks, and keep up the good work. As we used to say at the great MALS13..."If you ain't ordnance...you're probably secured by now!" Just a memory to share... the worst day of my life was spent filling firebombs in the blazing yuma sun in august. we went back to the shop lookin like snowmen... those were the good old days. if there is anyone in yuma i would like to hear from you. drop a line please. semper fi Jason Webb, CPL USMC '94-'98 jkcdwebb@airmail.net

This seems to be a worthy manner in re-laying good humor about dysfunctional ordies and finding old friends. I am glad to have a tool like this with folks of common interest and loves. To the old farts that write in to the new blood that will replace us out-dated Ordies. Best of luck to all my Ordnance sisters and brothers in their quest to be the best and in blowing the shit out of things. We are just landscape artist on a large scale. Moving buildings, vehicles and blowing large holes into the ground. Having had the privileged to work with 7 Marine Corps aircraft platforms, I will have to say that it doesn't get any better than being an Ordie. No-one does it like ordies. Play like you work........hard!!!

Hey there! For those of you in and use to be in MALS-13 or station weapons MCAS Yuma(hell on earth),AZ this is the one and only Cpl. Crowther (a.k.a. Psycho, Freakshow...among others). Right now I'm SMR with MAL-42 in NAS Atlanta and doing a lousy paid civillian job in Montgomery, AL. Luckily college is coming up(if I get a BA don't expect me to be an officer) and I'm still with that little lady. But if things go bad, then it's back to active duty and with a Guiness or Jeigermeister in my hand on liberty. Civillian life F*&^in sucks right now, if it don't get better. I'll be back!

Hiya! It's CPL. Crowther! who knew that 9 months later after I got out, they activated me once again! Now I'm stationed over here at MCAS Pendleton, CA. I wasn't doing very good in english class plus I quit my civillian job. Wasn't really making much money in the civillian world anyway. Now I'm making 2-3 times as much with my active duty pay! So that's a good thing. Haven't found a karaoke bar yet. Someone told me about a certain bar with karaoke in San Diego, but I found out it was actually a swinger's bar. Glad I didn't go. I keep having this urge to drink, but I told my GF I'd stay off the bottle. Had to turn down an invite to a kegger last friday. I just hope my gf is still loyal to me, luckily she is very loyal and loving. But if she wasn't? Then it's off to Vegas to get drunk and horny(and gamble sober). So it's all ok for now. Got me another cheap bike for riding across the base. Going to Area 24 on rattle snake rd. is great, going to mainside on rattle snake rd. is a pain in the ass! Y'all have a good day and IYAOYAS!

Fellow Ordnancemen, since 9-11, you can no longer send a care package to "any marine". Therefore, myself and a few other Former Marines, are willing to send packages to our brothers in Kuwait and Iraq. The thing is we need names and mailing addresses. Anyone reading this and is part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, this applies to you as well. My EAS was in 94' so most of the people I know are out now, being out of the loop we need your help. Hello Ordies,
How the heck are ya'? My name is Kelly Harlos and I have been a Central Tech Librarian for the past 6 years at three different commands.
Ok, let's try this again...and stop hitting the "Tab" button so that I don't keep submitting partial e-mails!
Please accept my apologies for the duplicate submissions. And, if possible, please remove them from your web site and post only this one. Thanks:~)
I have been working as Central Tech Pub librarian for 6 years at three different commands; a USN squadron, an aviation traning command, and presently, the Pacific fleet Type Commander.
In all the years of requisitioning, receiveing, issuing, changing, and auditing the various publications, I have to say that Ordnance pubs and related services are theeeeee most difficult to track down, manage and obtain.
I am speaking mostly in reference to NAVSEA type pubs. I can view and order or download, if in digital format almost all NAVAIR pubs through the NATEC and NLL web sites. I can even order NAVSEA pubs via the NLL web site.
My biggest question for you:
Who do I contact or where do I go to verify my automatic distribution requirements peratining to NAVESEA pubs???
I very much want my Ordnance personnel to have the latest and greatest pubs and I have no idea where I can go to verify each pub.
Any, and I mean ANY, help and/or advice would most certainly be absolutely appreciated.
Sincerely, Mrs. Kelly M. Harlos COMNAVAIRPAC CTPL

Hello, this is a sister of a crpl. my name is AOAN William Ashton of the U.S.S. George Washington's G-1 Division,EE Forklift shop. I also spent 2 years and some change in G-3 bomb assembly division as a Magazine Maintainance Man "MagRat" on the G.W. I became an Ordie originally cuz i wanted to blow shit up, but later it became alot more personal due to the fact that Ordies are in my opinion the most tight-knit rate in the Navy. the friends I have made in the before mentioned divisions are people who I would take a bullet for or throw myself onto a grenade to save. they are my family although we may not always agree about somethings "like who can drink the most shots before they faint, puke or die" but in the end whenever I was in trouble it was one of my Ordie brothers or sisters who rescued my sorry ass. I hope to continue on as an Ordie as long as I can. Lets keep puttin warheads on foreheads.....IYAOYAS!!! AOAN WIlliam Howard Ashton

I've been an ordnancemen for 4 yrs. in VMFA-251 and been through both Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom when they first stared. Theodore Roosevelt was fun and then Kuwait not to far after. I wouldn't want to do any other job in the Corps. If You Ain't Ordnance You Ain't Shit. Cpl Jason B.S. Tisdale

To my Brothers & Sisters on the tip of spear, I want to express my sincere appreciation for you standing the watch! I have a two year Grandson that I cherish with all that I am and it is my deepest desire that he enjoy his life as I have enjoyed mine. You, my brothers & sisters, will insure that is going to happen. I, myself have stood the watch, so I can appreciate the anticipation of what you must be feeling about what tomorrow will bring. Like me, and the brothers who stood beside me, we did what was expected of our honor, as you will do the same. I will fly the RED, WHITE & BLUE until the day that I die in memory of our men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. When the job is done remember that the beer always flows freely at the Keidel's home and you are most welcomed there anytime to enjoy. So from me and my family, THANK YOU and good hunting! Do you have a sign up list to look up other ordnancemen that I may have been stationed with? Also, do you have a newsletter to keep people abreast of events such as the annual ordnance party. I was an AO in the USMC from 1980 to 1989 and would like to try and find some of the guys & gals I was stationed with. Thanks.

Hello All,
My name is Tim Hunt and I was an AO3 onboard the USS Saratoga back from 88-92. I was hoping that someone might be able to help me. I lost contact with a shipmate which I had the utmost respect for and his name was AOC Daniel Johnson. I am guessing that he is probably LDO now but if not he is definately an Master Chief. If anyone has any idea on who this is or how to contact him, could you please send me an email at thunt@tahoe-inc.com. I would just like to be able to say thanks for all he did for me. Thank you.
Also Guy's, I am so damn proud of you all. You have no idea just how much I miss it. I miss it all. God Bless you !

Just when you thought, "could it get any worse?" It get's worse. In reading through the guest list I felt as though I was taking a trip in time. My time in the Corps was, I can say with absolute certainty, one hell of a unique experience. I regret today that I am not there with you all at the same time in every climb and place. I am not very far though: After I left the Corps (under what can be described as unreconcilable differences, High-year-Tenure to be exact, I walked my happy ass on over to the Navy and got a job, as, you guessed it, AO. I am now an AO1 (AW/SW) and am doing well, but I can't get over my brothers and sisters who over the years have given me the greatest since of purpose. I never really got to say thanks for the memories. Gny Fimea, I will send you a note at navair. Is Maj. Crabtree still there? If so let him know I said hi as well. Oh, and Gny Mcfadden too one of my 3rd Bn buddies). The Navy is very different than the Corps in many ways and for me it is quite hard to adjust, but in many other ways they are the same. On both sides of the coins one constant rings true: an AO is an AO is an AO...
Sorry about the little west coast bastardization ofour motto but "that's OK" (so I'm told, thank Gny Vanoordt for that one). I just got back from OP "Iraqi Freedom" in November on the Nimitz.
Inquiries can be directed to AO1 (AW/SW) Organ (former Sgt or for some of you DI Sgt) at organt@nimitz.navy.mil

You'd figure once you mention using a specialized device affectionately known as a "hernia-bar" to accomplish many of the tasks listed in the job discription for your MOS they (VA) might have a slight hint. The VA suffers from chronic senility when it's time to collect. There is a section on SMART that used to be sent out to each year (now Im told it's reserved to request only) that has a job summary per MOS. If you've done any -31 work, there may be a documented summary in this page that highlights the loading/downloading tasks. Also, it may help to reference some of the weapons loading manuals/checklists in a detailed letter to them that helps to explain your work throughout your career. It helps to corner them with documentation, amazing how helpful some agencies become if they can't argue their way out of supporting you 100%. Although I don't know the history, you may have already taken this step. If such is the case I can only sympathize with you. Hopefully, future ordnancemen take your message to heart.
Hey Organ, thanks for the reply, My initial request was denied but some brainiac, determined I rated 10% for my hearing, go figure. One mistake I did make was while I was in, evry time I'd tweak my back, I'd just go on working and not go to Medical about it. BIG mistake, I should have been creating a paper trail while I was in, my medical record would be 3 inches thick , if I knew then what I know now. So I'm having to create that paper trail now, that I'm out, Its called a post service connected disability. Yeah, I went on a big oratory about hernia bars, the lack of SATS loaders, etc etc. Your right , they want proof that I/we were actually told to do this sort of thing. Its laughable ie; "listen up guys, I just got this letter from the gunner, he wants us to load yada, yada, and he even signed it, so turn to" Any help is greatly appreciated.

For all to read. The information's out, GO TO MEDICAL FOR ANYTHING, EVEN YOU SUPERSTARS. Shame they break this news to you in Seps class, when it's too damn late to do anything about it. When youv'e been in a while, every point counts, check into it, according to the VA, you have a lot of leeway when it comes to what they will allow you to claim for disability, but you'll get nowhere when you cant prove anything. Here's another one, make copies of MED/DENTAL/SRB before turning them in too.

Sgt/AO-1 Organ, Did you work for me at MALS 39?
GySgt Fimea (ret) jon.fimea@navy.mil
Yes, Gunny I did. You worked in ORDPC with SSGT Wilkerson, Sgt Warren, and Gysgt Hefner was there as well. I see you and Kelly Harlos had some diologue a while back. She is an awsome person. We were putting together a Tech-Pub library direct from scratch on the Nimitz when we pulled in from the yards and she came over and damn near single handedly restructured our program. My first time working in Weapons QA (or any QA for that matter) and her effort proved invaluable to that mission, not taking away from the librarian we had at the time, he was very resourceful and receptive to advise and his contributions were equally productive. She's funny too. If you see or hear from her before I do, tell her I said hey.

Anybody who knows me from Kuwait, contact me so we can catch up. Whittington and McNeilly, whats up guys? Ya'll back from UDP yet?
